Something's fishy here!!!

Today I finished the Orla Challenge. After trying several layout ideas, I ended up with a school of fish theme, using the faces from the elf fabric for fish faces. At this step, I had cut and ironed on several of the small pieces. I used the Angelina film as the body and tail of the little girl fishy. I used a large flat bead as her body. I used the yarns for seaweed. Two pre-cut hearts were made into the two feather fishys. The white fabric at the bottom was the sandy bottom of the ocean where these odd creatures live!

At this point I was also preparing things to put on later. Here are two parts that were glued together. One will be the eye of the fish jumping out of water and the other will be an oyster. Here the piece is almost done. You can see the metallic threads and some of the beads that are bubbles and sand. The tennis player girl and her cat are on the shore. The fish is jumping for the bug. I used up all the pieces of 'stuff' that were sent to me, unless you count the bits cut away to make the fish shapes and leftovers from cutting out the elf kid faces.
Finally done! The tennis player is now a fisherwoman with a VERY small net to catch that big fish! Because of the lighting in this photo, it doesn't sparkle as much as the previous photo.
Here is a closer look at the top of the quiltlet...
And here is the bottom
Finally, a close up of the little oyster. It even has a pearl for you! I hope you enjoyed the creative process! The whole piece measures eight by eight inches square. I have no idea what I will do with it though! lol Thanks for looking.

Thank you ladies! Charl, you DO have imagination!!! I've seen some of your works too and you have a wonderful way with colors that I lack.
Blue, I will probably end up sending it to Orla. For a while though, I plan to just enjoy looking at it. :D

This is awesome. I am almost intimidated to open my envelope again. Excellent work. I don't blame you for wanting to hang on ito it for awhile.
