So today I got quite a surprise. We went to visit my sister-in-law. She brought out this quilt. I was surprised to see another hexagon (Grandmother's Flower Garden) quilt!!! It was started by my husband's Grandmother, and Mother. Both have since passed away. My SIL is not a quilter. She told me she and any other relative that her Mom and Granny could get to do so, put a stitch or three in this quilt! It has been totally quilted by hand!
I have the binding to do. It won't be an easy task as the red is proving to be impossible to match so far. I will have to get more creative with it! :) I am so honored to be the one allowed to finish it and thrilled that our little son will have a small piece of his history to keep. There are very very few things from my husband's side of the family to pass on to him. Mostly only photos right now.
Anyway what a cool thing! To think I have been working on my hexagon quilt all this time and here I am, gifted with this one!
I can't wait to get out of this RV and back into my studio!
