Wedding Bells

A week from today my daughter will be on her honeymoon. I finally got the last photos taken of the finished wedding quilt and will send it off in the mail tomorrow. I hope she likes it.

This is a close up of the corner:

And a closeup of the backing:

The complete backing shows here:

Finally the completed front:
I used a lot of oriental themed fabrics in this quilt. Though you can't see it well, the backing is a neutral on neutral print of Japanese themes. If I recall this quilt measures over 105" square. It is the biggest one I think I have ever done! You can click on the pictures to see a closeup of the stitching and fabrics.

With the leftover fabric I made a matching pair of pillowcases in each color combination:
I had never made pillow cases with a band on them before. They turned out pretty neat-o! I think I will make some out of some of my other fabrics for MY bed too! lol

In Stitches!

I have the quilting done and am in the process of burying the thread tails. I am quite pleased with how this one came out! The first photo is yellow looking because we lowered the light in order to show the quilting better.
This shows the color more-so as it really is.
I hope to try to make more of a planned pattern in my next quilt, instead of meandering. My next quilt is the Tom and Jerry quilt for my son Tom. :)

Working on those stitches...

This is the third quilt that I have done in the frame. I am working on getting my stitch lengths even. They are not perfect yet, but I AM seeing improvement. One thing I have discovered is that the bigger the line done, before changing direction, the slower I need to be. Those longer sweeping lines tend to make me want to speed up, therefore leading to longer stitches.

I am just doing a simple meander on this quilt for the center part. I haven't decided how to do the borders yet. I hope to do an actual pattern like perhaps feathers. I have not decided if I will do the borders on the frame or on the table machine yet.
I only have a few more rows to do and the center of this top will be complete!

Remember if you click on the photos you can see a larger picture in more detail. I wouldn't mind if you did not do that though, as you might REALLY see those stitches!!!! lol
