Don't Push my Buttons!

I was looking through my buttons, trying to find some for a project. I also weeded out some that I will put on the freebie table at the next guild meeting. Seeing them in this picture, makes them look kinda pretty.

I am working almost daily on the owl quilt. I do about a bobbin's worth of stitching a day. I am always puzzled about how to quilt an appliquéd quilt. I never feel I can do them justice. This will be a gift for my oldest son and I have a deadline, so I had best keep pushing that fabric!

I am almost done with the yellow squares on the Cathedral Windows quilt. I can't recall the next color but I think it will be the last full round. After that, I will be doing the corners as this whole quilt is to be set on point.

I spied this purse at a local flea market and antique store a few days ago. It is a nice peachy, mustardy, yellow. I rarely go for that color but there was something about this one that caught my eye.
My old purse has been falling apart, so the timing was right. It's made of a heavy canvas type material and has a really cute lining. When I got home I looked up the brand and found out that it may have sold for $60-$100 new! It still had the tags on and I don't think it was ever used. I paid $7.50 for it. SCORE! hahaha

My son will be going off to college in the fall. I decided to embroider his name on his towels so in case they get mixed up with someone else's laundry, he can tell these are his. No big deal, but I felt good, doing this for him. Actually I think it was more for me. My little guy is all grown up and it's hard cutting them strings sometimes.
Well, back to the studio for me. It's hotter than hot out and humid to boot. I think it is a great day to stay indoors and 'play'. Till next time, Happy Sewing Y'all!
